Cravings @ Molito

For her birthday, my friend Beth treated us with dinner at Cravings, Alabang. It was Saturday evening but only about four tables were occupied.

What’s nice though about Cravings is they have a Soup & Salad Buffet. It costs PhP 295 but comes free if you order their main dishes.

The buffet choices were limited as they only have lettuce, carrots, onions, egg, singkamas, cucumber, corn kernels, and pineapple tidbits (these are what I can remember). The ingredients were dry and hard, especially the carrots and singkamas. Dressing options included caesar and vinaigrette.

Soups for the day were Cream of Potato which I liked, and French Onion Soup which was forgettable. There was also unlimited bread and butter but I think the bread was kinda stale.

Most of their main dishes were not available, so we ordered the following:

Almond Crusted Fish Fillet- Taste was okay. The fillet was big (I had a hard time finishing it off!) and with generous almond breading. My friend, who had the same dish, found her order too salty that she was only able to take a few bites.

T-Bone Steak- My friend ordered it medium-rare, but it was hard to chew. Taste was good. I wondered why it was served on a regular plate and not on a sizzling plate. Plus, I find the serving somewhat small.

Mixed Seafood Rhapsody- The menu said that it is served on a sizzling plate, but again it was just set on a regular plate. Serving size is quite small.

Lasagna Supreme – This was delicious. But the picture in the menu is different from how they present it. Small serving size.

And of course, the cake for the birthday girl--Cravings’ famous chocolate caramel cake! The chocolate cake is rich and moist. However, the luscious caramel frosting leaves a weird after-taste.

Overall, service was good. But taste of the food was nothing to crave about, especially with the hefty price.
