Plenty of left-over bread during the holiday season? Don’t let it go to
waste! Try this heart-warming old-fashioned bread pudding.
You will need:
2 cups evaporated milk
¼ cup butter
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon salt
6 big slices of bread, cubed
½ cup raisins
Procedure:
1. In a saucepan, heat
milk and butter over medium heat until butter is melted. Mix in sugar.
2. In large bowl, mix
eggs, cinnamon and salt. Stir in bread cubes and raisins. Add in the milk &
butter mixture. Pour into ungreased deep pan.
3. Bake 40 to
45 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius.
4. Cut into desired
size. Best served hot. Re-heat if needed.
